What do you know about dirty words and taboo language?

Give your thoughts, insights, and stories here.

You are helping to launch The Long Bleep, a brand-BLEEPing-new public place to talk about the language we can't talk about. Through its podcast and blog, it will look at our confused relationship with the underbelly of language.

The Long Bleep will be a level-headed but relaxed conversation about cursing, swearing, obscenities, four-letter words, coarse language, earthy talk, dirty words, salty speech, and the like, including history, etymology, culture, media, grammar, contexts, pragmatics, practical realities, parenting, confrontations, public policy, social mores and norms, literature, popular culture, and more. We'll hear answers, advice, and analysis from experts and everyday folks alike.

What have you always wanted to know? What was your first experience with it? Tell us that and more by answering the questionnaire. The questions are safe for work and families but feel free to swear or curse to explain yourself.

You may also send every question you've ever had about dirty words to Grant Barrett, the creator of this project, at grant@longbleep.org or on Twitter @longbleep and Facebook.
